01 · The approach

Why passive detection

Active countermeasures such as jammers and signal takeover are restricted under federal law to a small set of authorized agencies. A receive-only sensor carries no such restriction. Air Terminal emits nothing — there is nothing to license, nothing to interfere with, and nothing for a drone operator to detect.

Legal everywhere

Lawful for any private or commercial customer. No FCC spectrum license, no special authority, no legal review cycle before deployment.

Emits nothing

Strictly receive-only. It cannot interfere with site radios, Wi-Fi, or aircraft, and its presence cannot be detected by the operator.

Works air-gapped

Classification runs on the on-board edge AI. No cloud dependency, no data leaving your network, no subscription required for core detection.

02 · The system

Two pieces, one cable

A weatherproof mast head unit carries the antennas and RF front end at the top of a pole. An indoor compute unit carries the software-defined radio and NVIDIA Jetson edge AI. A single PoE++ run connects it to your network, and detections reach your VMS over a REST API and live WebSocket feed.

Air Terminal is a passive receiver. It does not jam, take over, or disable aircraft. Detection covers UAS that emit RF, including their controllers; fully autonomous, RF-silent aircraft require complementary radar or optical sensors, which HPSI’s multi-sensor roadmap addresses.
